Precision 5820 tower workstation

The Precision 5820 tower is built for professionals who need a desktop that can run demanding engineering, simulation or rendering workloads. It ships with an Intel Xeon W-2135 six-core processor operating at 3.7 GHz with a 4.5 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 128 GB of DDR4 2666 registered ECC memory across four 32 GB modules, leaving four DIMM slots available for expansion up to 256 GB. A 2 TB PCIe NVMe solid-state drive provides the primary storage volume.

Quadro P2000 graphics and connectivity

The Nvidia Quadro P2000 card adds 5 GB of GDDR5 memory on a 160-bit bus and four DisplayPort outputs for multi-monitor configurations. Integrated Intel i219 gigabit Ethernet handles wired networking, while Realtek ALC3234 high-definition audio covers basic sound requirements. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed with digital activation, so the workstation is ready for professional software stacks immediately after first boot.

950 W gold power supply and mid-tower chassis

A 950 watt 80 Plus Gold certified power supply rated at 90 percent efficiency delivers stable power to the CPU, GPU and all installed peripherals. The black mid-tower form factor fits standard rack or desk environments and uses tool-less access for drive bays and expansion cards. No monitor is included, so buyers who need a display must source one separately.

Questions about this item

Will the 128 GB DDR4 2666 memory need to be expanded later?

The system has 8 DDR4 slots and supports up to 256 GB, so the current 4 × 32 GB configuration leaves four slots free for future upgrades.

Which component hits its limit first during sustained heavy workloads?

The Quadro P2000 with 5 GB GDDR5 and a 160-bit bus will saturate its VRAM before the 6-core Xeon W-2135 or the 2 TB NVMe drive become bottlenecks.

How loud and hot does the 950 W 80 Plus Gold power supply get when the workstation runs all day?

The 950 W 80 Plus Gold unit runs at 90 % efficiency, so waste heat is low; the tower’s thermal design keeps fan noise moderate even under continuous load.
