Precision 5820 Workstation for Demanding

The Dell Precision 5820 tower workstation targets professionals who require reliable compute power for engineering, design and data-analysis workloads. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and a 950 W 80 Plus Gold power supply in a mid-tower chassis.

32 GB DDR4 ECC Memory with 256 GB Ceiling

Four 8 GB registered ECC DDR4 2666 modules occupy half the eight available slots, leaving room to expand to the 256 GB maximum. The 500 GB PCIe NVMe SSD provides fast boot and project storage, though capacity may require supplementation for large datasets.

Quadro P4000 with Quad DisplayPort Output

The Nvidia Quadro P4000 graphics card delivers 8 GB GDDR5 memory across a 256-bit bus and drives up to four displays via DisplayPort. Buyers who need more GPU memory or additional video outputs should consider a different configuration.

Questions about this item

Will the Xeon W-2225 and the 950 W power supply leave enough headroom if I keep my older PCIe 3.0 add-in cards?

The 950 W 80 Plus Gold unit provides ample reserve for the 4.1 GHz Xeon and Quadro P4000, so legacy PCIe 3.0 cards can stay installed without exceeding the power budget.

How can I verify the 32 GB DDR4 2666 ECC memory is recognised and running at the correct speed after first boot?

Open Task Manager → Performance → Memory and confirm 32 GB shows at 2666 MHz; the BIOS will also report ECC Registered status on the POST screen.

Does the box include the Quadro P4000 with its four DisplayPort cables, or must I buy cables separately?

The Quadro P4000 ships installed with its quad DisplayPort bracket; no extra cables are included, so purchase DisplayPort leads if your monitors need them.
