Precision 5820 Tower workstation

The Dell Precision 5820 is a mid-tower desktop built around an Intel Xeon W-2235 six-core processor running at 3.8 GHz with a 4.6 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 256 GB of DDR4 2933 registered ECC memory across eight slots and a 500 GB PCIe NVMe solid-state drive. An Nvidia Quadro P5000 graphics card with 16 GB GDDR5X memory provides four DisplayPort outputs. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

Suited for memory-intensive professional workloads

This configuration targets users who need large ECC memory capacity and certified professional graphics for applications such as simulation, rendering or data analysis. The six-core Xeon and 256 GB RAM ceiling support heavy multitasking and in-memory datasets. Buyers who require multiple GPUs, higher core counts or additional internal drive bays should evaluate larger chassis platforms.

256 GB DDR4 2933 registered ECC ceiling

The system populates all eight DIMM slots with 32 GB modules to reach the 256 GB maximum supported by the platform. This memory configuration is fixed at the validated speed and cannot be expanded further without replacing modules. Confirm that your workload fits within this capacity before purchase.

Questions about this item

Does the Precision 5820 ship with a monitor, keyboard or mouse, or must they be purchased separately?

The tower includes Windows 11 Pro and a 950 W 80 Plus Gold power supply. No monitor, keyboard or mouse is included, so plan to add them.

Should I choose the 256 GB DDR4 configuration or look for a smaller capacity?

The system already holds the maximum 256 GB across eight slots, so no smaller option is offered and no further memory can be added.

What does the Quadro P5000's 16 GB GDDR5X mean for 3D rendering and multi-display work?

The 16 GB frame buffer drives large models and textures, while four DisplayPort outputs support up to four 4K monitors simultaneously.
