Mobile workstation for CAD and ISV apps

The Dell Precision 7510 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built around a quad-core Intel Core i7-6820HQ processor, 16GB of DDR4 memory and an Nvidia Quadro M1000M GPU with 2GB GDDR5 video memory. It ships with Windows 10 Pro and a 500GB 7200 rpm SATA hard drive, targeting engineers and designers who run certified ISV applications on the move.

Suited for 2D drafting and light 3D work

This configuration suits professionals who rely on stable Quadro drivers for 2D CAD, BIM authoring or entry-level 3D modelling. Buyers who need more storage capacity or faster application loading should consider a model equipped with solid-state storage, as the supplied mechanical drive limits throughput.

Quadro M1000M with 2GB GDDR5

The single specification that determines fit is the Nvidia Quadro M1000M graphics card with 2GB of GDDR5 memory. It provides certified OpenGL performance for professional viewports but lacks the frame-buffer and compute resources required for large assemblies, GPU rendering or high-resolution texture workloads.

Questions about this item

Does the 500 GB 2.5 inch SATA drive come fitted or must I supply my own storage?

The 500 GB 7200 rpm SATA drive is already installed inside the chassis.

Should I pick the 16 GB 2133 MHz DDR4 option or look for a larger memory kit?

Two 8 GB DDR4 modules fill both slots, giving 16 GB total; adding more would require removing one module.

What does the 3.60 GHz turbo figure on the i7-6820HQ mean when the M1000M 2 GB GDDR5 GPU is driving the 1920x1080 display?

The quad-core CPU can reach 3.60 GHz on short bursts while the discrete GPU handles graphics workloads on the FHD panel.
