Mobile workstation for ISV-certified workflows

The Dell Precision 7520 pairs an Intel Core i7-6820HQ processor with 32 GB DDR4 memory and a 512 GB SSD. An NVIDIA Quadro M1200 with 4 GB GDDR5 drives a 15.6 inch 1920 x 1080 anti-glare display. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed on a chassis that supports up to 64 GB total memory across four slots.

Sustained thermal behaviour under load

The Quadro M1200 delivers stable frame rates during extended 3D modelling or simulation sessions thanks to the Precision thermal design. Four memory slots allow capacity growth without replacing existing modules. Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI 1.4 support dual external displays for multi-monitor productivity. Battery life is guaranteed to hold a charge during mobile use.

42 % colour-gamut display limits colour-critical

The TN panel covers 42 % colour gamut, making it suitable for CAD geometry review but not for print-ready colour grading. Buyers who need wider gamut coverage should consider an external calibrated monitor. No webcam is installed, so video conferencing requires a separate USB camera. Thunderbolt 3 provides high-speed peripheral expansion for docking stations.

Questions about this item

Does the Intel Core i7-6820HQ and Quadro M1200 run hot or loud under continuous load?

The 2.70 GHz quad-core processor and 4 GB GDDR5 graphics are cooled by the Precision 7520 chassis; fan noise rises during sustained workloads but remains within workstation norms.

What cables or peripherals must I already own to use the Thunderbolt 3 port?

A Thunderbolt 3 cable or dock is required to drive external displays or storage through the single TB3 connector.

Will my older USB 3.0 hard drives work with the four USB 3.0 ports on this laptop?

Yes, the four USB 3.0 ports with PowerShare are backward compatible with existing USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 devices.
