Precision 7540 mobile workstation

The Dell Precision 7540 is a 15.6 inch mobile workstation built around a six-core Intel Core i7-9750H processor with a 4.5 GHz turbo frequency. It combines 32 GB of memory with a dual-drive layout of 1 TB HDD and 512 GB SSD. A dedicated NVIDIA Quadro T2000 graphics card drives the 1920 x 1080 non-touch display.

Suits ISV-certified workflows.

Engineers and data scientists who need ISV-certified stability for CAD, simulation or AI development will benefit from the professional GPU and 32 GB RAM. Buyers who prioritise ultra-portability or long battery life should look elsewhere, as the chassis starts at 2.53 kg and the 45 W processor demands robust cooling.

Straightforward deployment with standard docking

Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed so the system is ready for domain join and encryption policies out of the box. Thunderbolt and Mini DisplayPort 1.4 simplify multi-monitor setups. The only common friction point is managing the two separate storage volumes during initial image deployment.

Questions about this item

Does this laptop require a separate graphics card to use the Quadro T2000?

No, the NVIDIA Quadro T2000 is a dedicated graphics card built into the system and does not require an additional GPU.

Can I connect my older monitor that only has a VGA input to the Mini DisplayPort 1.4 or HDMI 2.0 ports?

You will need an active adapter to convert the Mini DisplayPort 1.4 or HDMI 2.0 signal to VGA for that monitor.

How can I verify the Intel Core i7-9750H is reaching its 4.50 GHz turbo frequency under load?

Use Windows Task Manager or a monitoring utility to observe the CPU clock speed while running a demanding workload.
