Dell Precision 7670 mobile workstation

The Dell Precision 7670 is a 16.0-inch mobile workstation running Windows 11 Pro. It pairs a 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12850HX processor with 64GB of DDR5 memory and an NVIDIA RTX A3000 GPU with 12GB GDDR6. Two 1TB PCIe SSDs in RAID 0 provide 2TB of storage.

Suits GPU-accelerated workflows.

Engineers, designers and analysts who need certified drivers and 12GB of GPU memory for 3D rendering, simulation or video editing will benefit from this configuration. Buyers who prioritise a lighter chassis or longer battery life for frequent travel should consider a thinner-and-lighter alternative.

RTX A3000 12GB GDDR6 decides fit

The dedicated NVIDIA RTX A3000 with 12GB of GDDR6 memory determines whether this laptop handles your professional GPU workloads. If your applications require more VRAM or a higher-tier professional GPU, this model will not meet that requirement.

Questions about this item

What bandwidth does the Thunderbolt 4 interface cap at for external storage or displays?

Thunderbolt 4 provides up to 40 Gb/s, so a single port can drive two 4K displays or a fast NVMe enclosure without throttling the PCIe SSD RAID 0 array inside.

What are the exact chassis dimensions and weight to confirm it fits my bag and desk mount?

The workstation measures 16.0 inches diagonally and weighs 5.75 lb; the gray aluminum deck fits a standard 16 inch sleeve and VESA-compatible docks that accept a 92 WHr battery footprint.

How is the 64 GB DDR5 memory installed, and what mistake do buyers make when upgrading?

All 64 GB is soldered on-board DDR5; there are no SO-DIMM slots, so any future capacity increase is impossible — buyers who order extra sticks will find nowhere to install them.
