Mobile workstation for ISV workloads

The Dell Precision 7670 pairs a 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12850HX processor with an NVIDIA RTX A3000 12GB GDDR6 GPU. 64GB of onboard DDR5 memory and a 16.0" 1920x1200 WVA display provide the canvas for certified professional applications. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

RAID 0 array and dual Thunderbolt 4

Three 128GB PCIe SSDs are configured in RAID 0, presenting 384GB of combined storage with striped throughput for large project files. Two Thunderbolt 4 ports add 40Gbps external expansion for high-speed drives or docks. An SD card reader and smart card reader support media ingest and secure login.

60Hz panel and 92Whr battery limits

The 16:10 display runs at a fixed 60Hz refresh rate, so motion clarity suits static design review rather than high-frame-rate playback. A 92Whr battery powers the 16-core CPU and discrete GPU under load, meaning sustained heavy renders will require the 240W adapter. No optical drive is fitted.

Questions about this item

Can the 64GB DDR5 memory be upgraded later?

The 64GB DDR5 memory is onboard and soldered, so it cannot be upgraded or replaced after purchase.

What limits the RTX A3000 12GB GDDR6 graphics during sustained heavy workloads?

The 240W power supply and shared thermal design cap the combined CPU and GPU power draw, so the GPU hits its power limit first under continuous load.

How loud and hot does the 92 WHr battery and cooling system get when the laptop runs all day?

Under full load the dual-fan cooling spins up audibly and the chassis reaches high surface temperatures, while the 92 WHr battery drains in roughly two hours.
