Mobile workstation for professionals

The Dell Precision 7760 is a 17.3 inch mobile workstation built for engineers and creators who need certified drivers and ISV reliability. It pairs an Intel Core i7-11850H processor with an NVIDIA RTX A3000 6GB GDDR6 GPU. The system includes 16GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB NVMe SSD running Windows 11 Pro.

Thermals and acoustics at idle

The large chassis allows the cooling system to manage the 45 watt CPU and discrete GPU quietly during office work or light CAD tasks. Thunderbolt 4 ports and Wi-Fi 802.11ax operate without adding noticeable heat. Fan noise stays low while the 1920 x 1080 60 Hz panel draws minimal power.

Sustained load behaviour

Under continuous rendering or simulation the six-core processor holds its 2.5 GHz base clock while the RTX A3000 maintains stable output thanks to the workstation-class thermal solution. The 24 MB cache helps feed data during long compute runs. Grade B cosmetic condition does not affect thermal performance.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 1 TB NVMe M.2 SSD and which step do people get wrong?

The 1 TB NVMe M.2 SSD is already fitted from the factory; the common mistake is trying to open the chassis to add a drive that is already present.

What maintenance or replacement will the 16 GB DDR4 memory need later?

The 16 GB DDR4 is soldered to the board, so it cannot be upgraded or replaced; only a full board service would change the memory amount.

What limit shows up first on the NVIDIA RTX A3000 6 GB GDDR6 under sustained load?

The 6 GB GDDR6 frame buffer fills before the GPU core saturates, capping texture-heavy workloads during long render sessions.
