Precision T5820 tower workstation

The Dell Precision T5820 is a mid-tower desktop built for professional workloads that demand multi-threaded CPU performance and certified graphics drivers. It suits engineers, designers and analysts who rely on ISV-certified applications and need a stable Windows 11 Pro platform. Buyers who require a compact small-form-factor chassis or integrated graphics for basic office tasks should look elsewhere.

64 GB DDR4 ECC memory and 2 TB NVMe storage

Four registered ECC modules running at 2666 MHz provide 64 GB of capacity with headroom to expand to 256 GB across eight slots. The single 2 TB PCIe NVMe drive delivers fast boot and project-load speeds, though users with large local datasets will need to add secondary drives. The configuration leaves four DIMM slots and additional drive bays free for future upgrades.

950 W 80 Plus Gold power supply

A 950-watt 80 Plus Gold unit rated at 90 % efficiency powers the 6-core Xeon W-2135 and the Quadro P4000 8 GB GDDR5 card under sustained loads. The tower layout directs airflow across the CPU and GPU heatsinks, keeping fan noise low during typical rendering or simulation sessions. Power draw scales with workload but remains within the supply’s efficient range.

Questions about this item

Will my existing DDR4-2666 ECC modules work alongside the 64GB (4x16GB) already installed?

Yes — the board has eight DDR4 slots and supports up to 256GB total, so you can add matching DDR4-2666 registered ECC sticks to the four free slots.

How do I confirm the Quadro P4000 is running at full 256-bit 8GB GDDR5 performance after driver install?

Open NVIDIA Control Panel → System Information and verify the GPU shows 8GB GDDR5, 256-bit bus width and the driver version matches the latest Quadro branch.

What cables and accessories ship with the T5820 besides the 950W 80 Plus Gold power supply?

The tower includes the power cord, a USB keyboard and mouse, and the Windows 11 Pro digital licence; no monitor, video cables or additional drives are supplied.
