Precision T5820 Xeon workstation

The Dell Precision T5820 is a mid-tower desktop built for professional workloads. It ships with a 4-core Intel Xeon W-2125 processor running at 4.0 GHz with a 4.5 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 64 GB of DDR4 2666 registered ECC memory across four slots. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and digitally activated.

Quadro P4000 graphics and storage

An Nvidia Quadro P4000 card with 8 GB GDDR5 memory provides four DisplayPort outputs for multi-monitor setups. The 2 TB PCIe NVMe solid-state drive serves as the sole internal storage device. A 950 W 80 Plus Gold power supply rated at 90 % efficiency delivers power to all components. Gigabit Ethernet and integrated high-definition audio are built into the motherboard.

LGA 2066 memory and expansion checks

Verify that your workflow can use the LGA 2066 socket and registered ECC DDR4 modules before ordering. The board offers eight memory slots with a 256 GB maximum capacity for future upgrades. No mechanical hard drive is included, so plan additional storage if required. Ensure your displays accept DisplayPort inputs to match the Quadro P4000 outputs.

Questions about this item

Will the 950-watt 80 Plus Gold power supply need replacement during the workstation's lifespan?

The 950-watt 80 Plus Gold unit is rated for 90% efficiency and is designed for continuous workstation loads; replacement is only necessary if a fault develops.

Which component hits its limit first when the Xeon W-2125 runs at 4.5GHz turbo under sustained heavy compute?

The four-core Xeon W-2125 will reach its thermal ceiling before the 950-watt power supply or the Quadro P4000 8GB GDDR5 become bottlenecks.

How loud and hot does the tower get when the Quadro P4000 and 950-watt supply run all day?

Dell's Precision thermal design keeps the mid-tower quiet; the 80 Plus Gold supply runs cool at 90% efficiency, so fan noise stays low during extended sessions.
