Dell Precision T5820 workstation

The Dell Precision T5820 is a tower workstation built around an Intel Xeon W-2125 processor running at 4.00 GHz with four cores. It ships with 64 GB of DDR4 memory and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card. Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed for immediate deployment in professional environments.

Integration and expansion

The system occupies a standard tower chassis weighing 55 kg and offers two 3.5-inch drive bays alongside two M.2 slots for storage expansion. The LGA3647 socket supports a single processor with a maximum memory ceiling of 512 GB DDR4. The RTX 3070 provides dedicated graphics output for multi-display configurations while freeing CPU resources for compute tasks.

Professional fit

This configuration suits engineers, designers and content creators who need certified workstation reliability with strong single-thread speed and GPU-accelerated visual workflows. Buyers who require dual-socket scaling, more than 512 GB of memory or specialised compute accelerators should evaluate alternative platforms.

Questions about this item

What limits sustained performance first — the 4.0 GHz Xeon W-2125 or the RTX 3070?

The Xeon W-2125 runs at 4.0 GHz with 20 cores; the RTX 3070 is the dedicated GPU. Under heavy compute the CPU often reaches its thermal ceiling before the graphics card.

How loud and hot does the T5820 get when it runs all day?

The workstation weighs 55 kg and uses standard Dell cooling; fan noise rises with load but stays within typical workstation levels for continuous operation.

What must I already own to use the 2x 3.5" bays and 2x M.2 slots?

You need 3.5" SATA drives for the two 3.5" bays and M.2 NVMe modules for the two M.2 slots; the system ships with a 1 TB NVMe and 2 TB SATA already installed.
