Dual Xeon Gold 6148 workstation

The Dell Precision T7820 tower combines two Intel Xeon Gold 6148 processors to deliver 40 cores at 2.40 GHz for professional workloads. It targets engineers, designers and data analysts who need certified stability for CAD, rendering and simulation tasks. Windows 11 Pro is preinstalled and ready for immediate deployment.

Sustained multi-thread throughput

Dual 20-core CPUs with ECC registered DDR4 memory maintain consistent performance during long render queues or large dataset processing. The 64GB capacity across 12 slots supports memory-intensive applications without paging delays. A 512GB SATA SSD keeps project files and applications responsive during extended sessions.

Tower chassis with standard slots

The Precision T7820 fits full-height graphics cards such as the installed NVIDIA Quadro M4000 with 8GB video memory. Memory upgrades use DDR4 ECC registered modules only; other generations will not fit the LGA 3647 platform. Builders needing more than 512GB of solid-state storage must add drives separately.

Questions about this item

How much noise and heat should I expect from the dual Xeon Gold 6148 CPUs and Quadro M4000 running all day?

The workstation uses a tower chassis designed for dual-processor thermal loads, and the Quadro M4000 is a professional card with a blower-style cooler that exhausts heat out the rear.

What else must I already own for this T7820 to work out of the box?

Only a display with a DisplayPort or DVI input, plus a keyboard and mouse; Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and the 512 GB SATA SSD holds the OS and applications.

Will my existing DDR4 ECC Registered modules work alongside the installed 64 GB in the 12 memory slots?

Yes, the system accepts DDR4 ECC Registered DIMMs across 12 slots, so compatible modules can be added to the factory 64 GB without replacing it.
