Dual Xeon E5-2620 v4 workstation

The Dell Precision T7910 tower delivers dual eight-core Xeon E5-2620 v4 processors running at 2.1 GHz with hyperthreading for 32 virtual cores. It targets professionals who need multi-threaded compute for rendering, simulation or virtualisation workloads in a tower form factor. The system ships without an operating system so IT teams can deploy their own licensed image.

16 GB DDR4 and 500 GB SATA headroom

Quad-channel DDR4 ECC memory starts at 16 GB across 16 DIMM slots and scales to 1 TB with dual CPUs installed. The 500 GB 7.2K SATA drive handles the OS and active project files while four M.2 PCIe slots and up to eight 2.5-inch bays provide room for faster scratch volumes. The integrated LSI SAS 3008 controller manages software RAID 0, 1 and 10 across the internal bays.

NVS 310 and 1300 W supply enable multi-display

The Nvidia NVS 310 adds 512 MB of video memory and dual DisplayPort outputs for dual-monitor office or monitoring setups without taxing the 1300 W 90 % efficient power supply. A DVD-RW drive is included for legacy media access. Gigabit Ethernet via Intel I217 and I210 controllers provides wired network connectivity for managed environments.

Questions about this item

Will the 2.1 GHz Xeon E5-2620 v4 processors and C612 chipset work with my existing DDR4 ECC modules?

The board has 16 DIMM slots in quad-channel layout and supports up to 2400 MHz DDR4 ECC when both CPUs are installed, so compatible modules will run at their rated speed.

How can I verify the NVIDIA NVS 310 512 MB card is driving both DisplayPort outputs correctly?

Connect two monitors to the dual DisplayPort connectors, boot into the OS, and confirm both screens show independent desktops at native resolution in display settings.

Does the 500 GB 7.2K SATA drive ship installed, and what extra drives or caddies are needed to populate the four 3.5-inch bays?

The 500 GB SATA drive comes pre-fitted; the chassis includes four 3.5-inch bays with tool-less trays, so additional SATA or SAS drives can be added without extra caddies.
