A tower workstation with a ten-core Xeon at 2.4 GHz, 8 GB DDR4, 500 GB SATA SSD and NVS 310 graphics, sold without an operating system
CPU Name Intel Xeon E5-2640 v4
Memory Capacity 8GB DDR4
SSD 500GB
HDD None
The Dell Precision T7910 is a tower workstation built around a single Intel Xeon E5-2640 v4 processor with ten cores at 2.4 GHz. It ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a new 500 GB SATA solid-state drive. The Nvidia NVS 310 graphics card provides dual DisplayPort outputs. No operating system is included.
This system suits engineers and analysts running single-threaded or moderately threaded applications on a single Xeon CPU. The 1300 W power supply and 16 DIMM slots allow memory expansion up to 1 TB with a second processor installed. Buyers who need dual-CPU performance or more than 8 GB of memory out of the box should look at a different configuration.
The installed memory is 8 GB of DDR4 ECC in a quad-channel architecture with eight slots available per CPU. This capacity fits light development or testing but will bottleneck larger datasets, virtual machines or rendering jobs. Adding modules is straightforward thanks to the 16 total slots, but the starting point is modest.

Other versions of this model
Seat the card in a PCIe x16 slot, connect the auxiliary power cable from the 1300W supply, then install the NVIDIA driver before expecting video output.
The drive has no moving parts; monitor SMART health and replace only if reallocated sectors appear or capacity becomes insufficient.
The 1300W power supply and chassis airflow set the thermal ceiling; sustained 10-core turbo may throttle if intake air exceeds design temperature.
