Dell PW124 275 W PSU for OptiPlex 740 745 755

This Dell PW124 power supply delivers 275 watts for OptiPlex 740, 745 and 755 desktops. It is a new, direct-replacement unit built to the original manufacturer specification. System builders maintaining these legacy workstations can install it without adapter cables or bracket modifications. The unit restores reliable power delivery for daily office workloads.

Replaces failed or ageing PW124 units in OptiPlex

Swap this supply when the original unit no longer holds voltage under load or shows capacitor degradation. The jump is worth it if the system randomly restarts, fails to POST or exhibits rail instability under typical business applications. It is not for builders needing higher wattage for discrete graphics upgrades or for chassis that require a different form factor.

Questions about this item

Does the PW124 unit fit the standard OptiPlex 740, 745 and 755 chassis without an adapter?

Yes, the PW124 is built for the OptiPlex 740, 745 and 755 and uses the native mounting points and power connector of those chassis.

What is the common mistake when installing the PW124 in an OptiPlex 745?

The main 24-pin plug seats in two stages; many builders stop at the first click and leave the latch unlatched, causing intermittent power.
