Dell R749K 450GB 15K SAS drive

The Dell R749K is a 450 GB 15K RPM SAS hard drive in a 3.5 inch form factor supplied with an F238F tray. It is built for enterprise servers and storage arrays that require high-speed rotational storage. The 6 Gbps SAS interface provides dual-port reliability for mission-critical workloads. This new drive suits administrators replacing failed units in compatible Dell PowerEdge systems.

Direct replacement for failed 15K SAS drives

The R749K replaces an identical 450 GB 15K SAS drive in the same tray without re-cabling or firmware changes. The jump is worth it when a current drive shows SMART errors, develops bad sectors or exceeds its rated service life. It is not suited for buyers who need larger capacity per bay, lower power draw or solid-state latency. Compatibility depends on the server backplane and controller supporting 6 Gbps SAS.
