65 W 20 V charger for Lenovo IdeaPad and Yoga

This DELL SK90200325 adapter delivers 65 W at 20 V 3.25 A through a 4.0 mm × 1.7 mm barrel connector. It replaces original Lenovo units rated 45 W or 65 W and fits IdeaPad 1, 3, 5, Slim 3, 5, 7, Flex and V-series models listed in the compatibility data. The unit is new and weighs 0.259 kg.

Thermal behaviour and power draw

The charger accepts 100–240 V 50–60 Hz input at up to 2.5 A and converts it to 20 V DC with built-in over-voltage, over-current and short-circuit protection. In normal use it runs at the rated 65 W output without fan noise, and the foldable two-pin plug keeps the profile compact for travel or desk use. CE, FCC and RoHS certifications confirm the safety design.

Foldable plug and charging indicator

The foldable plug reduces bulk in a bag and the integrated charging light gives instant visual feedback on power status, even in low light. The corded electric design includes the 4.0 × 1.7 mm tip required by the listed Lenovo models, so no separate tip adapter is needed. Buyers who need a USB-C Power Delivery source or a higher-wattage unit for larger workstations will not be served by this model.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the 4.0 x 1.7 mm barrel plug and what is the common mistake?

Align the 4.0 mm outer diameter and 1.7 mm inner pin, then push straight in until it seats fully; the frequent error is forcing it at an angle, which bends the centre pin.

What part will need replacement first with daily use?

The detachable AC cord and the barrel-tip strain relief see the most flex cycles; inspect them periodically and swap the cord if the insulation frays.

At what point does the 65 W output limit appear during continuous load?

When the laptop draws more than 3.25 A at 20 V the adapter hits its 65 W ceiling and will either throttle output or trigger over-current protection.
