Dell ST900MM0168 900GB SAS enterprise drive

This Dell ST900MM0168 is a 900GB 2.5-inch SAS hard drive built for enterprise servers and storage arrays. It spins at 10000RPM and uses a 12Gbps interface with a 128MB cache. The drive ships with an R Series caddy for direct installation in compatible Dell bays.

Suits admins needing high-IOPS 900GB capacity

This drive fits administrators who want 900GB of fast 10K storage on a 12Gbps SAS backplane with the supplied tray. Buyers who need larger capacity per spindle, a different form factor, or a non-SAS interface should look at other options.

Deciding spec: 12Gbps SAS interface

The single specification that decides fitment is the 12Gbps SAS interface. Your controller or backplane must support 12Gbps SAS to use this drive at its rated speed. Without a matching 12Gbps SAS connection the drive will not operate as intended.
