Enterprise 300 GB SAS drive

The Dell Savvio ST9300653SS is a 300 GB 2.5 inch SAS hard drive spinning at 15000 RPM with a 64 MB cache. It is built for Dell PowerEdge servers and storage arrays that require high-throughput mechanical storage. The drive ships new in retail or OEM packaging.

Suits transactional server workloads

This drive fits administrators who need low-latency random I/O for databases, virtualisation hosts or mail servers on a 6 Gb/s SAS backplane. Buyers who need larger capacities for bulk archives or who lack a SAS controller and backplane should consider other options.

15000 RPM spindle speed

The 15000 RPM rotation rate is the specification that determines whether this drive meets the performance profile of the target workload. It delivers the sustained throughput and access times expected from enterprise 15K SAS media.
