It arrives in the Muse in Purple finish with left and right hinges, wireless antenna cables and the power button cable pre-installed. The Dell part number DCGYP confirms correct fitment for the listed models. No display bezel is included with this assembly.

Suitable for owners repairing a cracked lid

This part suits anyone restoring the original appearance and hinge function of a Studio 1555, 1557 or 1558. Buyers who need the front display bezel or a different colour option should look elsewhere. The assembly is sold new and ready to fit without additional hardware.

Dell part number DCGYP confirms compatibility

Matching this part number to your service tag or existing lid ensures the correct hinge placement and cable routing. Using a different part number risks misaligned hinges or missing antenna connectors. Always verify DCGYP before ordering.

Questions about this item

Does the 15.6" LCD back cover generate any noise, heat or draw power once installed?

The back cover is a passive structural part with no moving components or electronics, so it produces no noise, no heat and consumes no power.

What existing laptop parts must I already have for this lid assembly to work on my Studio 1555, 1557 or 1558?

You need the original LCD panel, display bezel, webcam module and motherboard video cable; the cover supplies only hinges, antenna cables and the power-button board.

Will the purple Muse lid fit alongside the older chassis plastics and hinge brackets I am keeping from my Studio 1555?

Yes — the assembly uses the factory hinge mounting points and screw locations for the 1555, 1557 and 1558, so it aligns with the existing base and bezel.
