Dual 20-core Xeon workstation

The Dell T7820 tower pairs two Xeon Silver 4114 processors, each running at 2.20 GHz with 12 cores, delivering 20 cores in total. It targets engineers, designers and analysts who run multi-threaded CAD, rendering or data workloads and need a certified Windows 11 Pro platform that is ready to work out of the box.

Upgrade from single-socket or lower-core systems

Moving from a single-processor machine or a configuration with fewer than 20 combined cores cuts compile, simulation and render times for large assemblies and datasets. The jump is worth it when projects exceed the memory or thread capacity of a typical desktop and you need the 768 GB DDR4 ceiling for future expansion.

Four 3.5-inch bays and a K2000 GPU

The chassis provides four 3.5-inch drive bays for additional bulk storage while the dedicated K2000 graphics card drives multi-display CAD environments. DDR4 memory slots remain open up to the 768 GB maximum, and the 55 kg weight means a sturdy bench or rack shelf is required.

Questions about this item

How many 3.5" drive bays does the T7820 tower provide for storage expansion?

The chassis includes four 3.5" bays, so you can add up to four hard drives or SSDs in that form factor without needing an adapter.

What is the correct order for populating the DDR4 slots when adding memory to the dual Xeon Silver 4114 configuration?

Fill the slots belonging to the first processor before moving to the second processor, and within each processor populate the channels in the sequence shown on the system board label — typically the white clips first, then the black clips.

Which component in this workstation is most likely to need replacement after several years of continuous operation?

The 1 TB SSD has a finite write endurance; under heavy workloads it will eventually wear out and should be monitored with SMART tools so you can swap it before data loss occurs.
