Professional workstation for engineering and design

The Dell T7820 Tower delivers 24 cores from two Xeon Gold 6126 processors at 2.60GHz for CAD, rendering, and data-heavy workflows. 32GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB SSD provide quick access to large project files. A dedicated K2000 GPU supports multi-display professional visual work with Windows 11 Pro preinstalled.

Thermals, noise, and power draw

Dual processors and a dedicated GPU are cooled by the tower chassis design for sustained workloads. Power, Ethernet, and USB status LEDs give immediate visibility of system state during operation. The workstation form factor manages heat and acoustic output for professional environments.

Build integration and expansion

Four 3.5" drive bays allow additional storage without external enclosures. Memory scales to 768GB DDR4 when projects outgrow the installed 32GB. The tower footprint fits standard workstation spaces while keeping internal slots accessible for future upgrades.

Questions about this item

How do I install the second Xeon Gold 6126 processor and what step is often missed?

The T7820 supports a maximum of two processors and ships with both Xeon Gold 6126 CPUs already installed; the step people miss is verifying that both 12-core units are recognised in BIOS before adding memory.

What memory upgrades will this workstation need later and what is the ceiling?

It currently holds 32GB of DDR4 and the board accepts up to 768GB, so future expansion uses DDR4 RDIMMs or LRDIMMs only — no other DDR generation fits.

Which limit appears first during sustained heavy rendering on the K2000?

The K2000 GPU with its 2000-series architecture will hit its VRAM and compute ceiling before the dual 2.60GHz Xeon processors or the 1TB SSD become bottlenecks.
