Professional CAD Workstation

The Dell T7820 is a dual-processor workstation built for design, rendering, engineering, and data-heavy applications. Two Intel Xeon Gold 6136 CPUs at 3.00GHz deliver 12 cores each for responsive performance on demanding professional tasks. 32GB of DDR4 memory supports smooth multitasking with large project files. Windows 11 Pro comes preinstalled for immediate setup.

Storage Upgrade Path

The system ships with a 512GB SSD for quick application access and a 3TB hard drive for capacity. Four 3.5-inch expansion bays remain available to add further storage as projects grow. The jump is worth it when current drive bays are full and workloads require more local space for active datasets or scratch disks.

Rack Mount Installation

The 55kg chassis requires two people or a lift for safe rack mounting. Verify rail compatibility and rack depth before starting. The most common issue is underestimating the weight, which leads to damaged rails or misaligned brackets during solo installation. Ensure the rack is rated for the load and secure all mounting screws evenly.

Questions about this item

How many 3.5 inch drive bays does the T7820 chassis provide?

The chassis has four 3.5 inch bays so you can add up to four 3.5 inch hard drives or compatible SSDs.

What is the correct order for populating the DDR4 slots on the dual Xeon Gold 6136 system?

Each processor has its own memory channels; fill the slots belonging to CPU1 first, then CPU2, following the channel sequence shown on the motherboard label.

How far can the memory be expanded beyond the installed 32GB DDR4?

The platform supports up to 768GB of DDR4, so additional modules can be added until that limit is reached.
