Professional workstation for design and engineering

The Dell T7820 delivers 48 processing cores across two Xeon Platinum 8160 CPUs running at 2.10GHz, supported by 64GB of DDR4 memory and a 1TB SSD. A dedicated K4200 graphics card drives professional visual workloads such as CAD, content creation and multi-display setups. Windows 11 Pro is preinstalled for immediate deployment in engineering, rendering and data-heavy environments.

Tool-free chassis access with four drive bays

The workstation chassis opens without tools, exposing four 3.5-inch expansion bays for additional storage. Memory slots and PCIe cards are reachable once the side panel is removed. The most common issue is exceeding the 768GB maximum memory capacity or populating DIMMs in the wrong channel order, which prevents the system from posting.

Verify power, cooling and OS requirements

Confirm that your facility can supply sufficient power for a dual-processor configuration and that rack or floor space accommodates the 55kg weight. Ensure existing displays use interfaces compatible with the K4200 output ports. The preloaded Windows 11 Pro licence is tied to this hardware; transferring it to another platform is not supported.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm both Xeon 8160 processors are active after powering on the T7820?

Open Windows Task Manager and check the Performance tab — it should show 48 logical processors running at 2.10 GHz.

Which components are included with the workstation and what must be purchased separately?

The unit ships with dual Xeon 8160 CPUs, 64 GB DDR4, 1 TB SSD, K4200 GPU, Windows 11 Pro and a power cord; monitor, keyboard, mouse and any additional drives are not included.

Should I choose the 64 GB DDR4 configuration or upgrade toward the 768 GB maximum for rendering workloads?

Start with the installed 64 GB DDR4; the board supports up to 768 GB across 24 slots, so you can add matched modules later if projects demand more memory.
