13.3" FHD laptop with MX250 graphics

The Dell Vostro 5390 is a 13.3-inch mainstream laptop built around a quad-core Intel Core i5-8265U processor running at 1.6 GHz with a 3.9 GHz turbo boost. It ships with 8 GB of memory and a 256 GB SSD. The 1920 x 1080 non-touch display includes an integrated webcam, while an Nvidia GeForce MX250 graphics card handles visual workloads. Wireless connectivity covers Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Suits mobile professionals needing discrete graphics

This configuration fits users who want a compact 13.3-inch chassis with a dedicated GPU for light creative tasks or multi-monitor setups. The 256 GB SSD and 8 GB RAM support typical office workflows and moderate multitasking. Buyers who require larger internal storage, higher memory capacity, or more powerful graphics performance for demanding 3D work should consider other options.

Nvidia GeForce MX250 dedicated graphics card

The MX250 discrete GPU is the defining component that separates this unit from integrated-graphics alternatives. It provides hardware acceleration for photo editing, video playback and external displays beyond what the processor graphics alone can deliver. If your workload relies solely on basic productivity applications, the discrete graphics may remain unused.

Questions about this item

How loud does the fan get when the Core i5-8265U runs at 3.9 GHz for long periods?

The quad-core Core i5-8265U reaches 3.9 GHz under load, so the cooling fan will spin up and become audible during sustained heavy work.

Which cables or peripherals must I already have to use the 13.3" FHD screen and the GeForce MX250 graphics?

The 1920x1080 non-touch display and MX250 GPU are built in; only the supplied power adapter is required for basic operation.

Can the 256 GB SSD and 8 GB RAM work with peripherals I kept from a 2018-era setup?

The 256 GB solid-state drive and 8 GB of memory are internal, so existing USB-A mice, keyboards or external drives connect normally.
