Dell WU136 Redundant Power Supply

The Dell WU136 is a redundant power supply designed for specific Dell OptiPlex desktop computers. It provides backup power capability to maintain system operation if one power module fails. This unit serves as a direct replacement or spare for compatible workstations.

Suits IT teams maintaining OptiPlex 580, 760, 780.

This supply suits IT teams maintaining OptiPlex 580, 760, 780, or 960 fleets where uptime matters. It is not for builders assembling custom cases or owners of other Dell models. Buyers needing standard single-unit power supplies should look at something else.

Redundant design for OptiPlex 580, 760, 780, 960

The redundant design allows continued operation during a module fault on OptiPlex 580, 760, 780, and 960 systems. Compatibility with these specific chassis is the single specification that decides whether this is the right part. Verify your model number before ordering.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the WU136 redundant power supply is working after installing it in my OptiPlex 780?

The system should power on normally with no error beeps or amber lights; the redundant design means the second module will take over silently if the first fails.

What comes with the WU136 unit and what must I source separately for an OptiPlex 960?

The WU136 power supply module itself is included; mounting rails, cables and the second redundant module are not supplied and must be ordered separately if required.

Which WU136 version matches my OptiPlex 580 versus the 760 or 780?

The single WU136 part number covers all listed models — OptiPlex 580, 760, 780 and 960 — so no alternative version or capacity choice exists.
