Dell X855d 16X SATA Internal DVD Writer

This Dell X855d is a 16X SATA internal dual-layer DVD writer designed for desktop systems that still require optical media support. It suits users who need to read or write DVDs and CDs for software installation, data archiving or legacy media playback. The drive fits a standard 5.25-inch bay and connects directly to a motherboard SATA port.

Thermals noise and power draw

As an optical drive it draws modest power only while spinning a disc and remains idle otherwise. Operational noise is limited to the disc motor and seek mechanism during read or write activity. Heat output is low enough that no dedicated cooling is required beyond normal case airflow.
