Dell XPS 7490 Quad-Core Laptop

The Dell XPS 7490 is a 14.0-inch laptop built around an Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor running at 1.90GHz. It ships with 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD, delivering responsive performance for office applications and multitasking. The 1920 x 1080 display provides a crisp workspace in a compact chassis. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed and ready for business use.

Suited For Portable Productivity Not Graphics Work

This device suits professionals who need a lightweight Windows 11 Pro machine for document editing, web browsing and video conferencing on the move. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 relies on shared system memory, so buyers who require dedicated GPU power for 3D rendering, CAD or modern gaming should look at a different system. The Grade B condition means cosmetic imperfections are present but functionality is fully verified.

Key Spec 16GB Memory And 512GB SSD

The combination of 16GB memory and a 512GB SSD is the specification that determines whether this unit meets your workflow demands. It allows multiple business applications to run simultaneously while storing a large local library of files and offline data. Configurations with less memory or a smaller drive would limit multitasking headroom and local storage capacity for the same form factor.

Questions about this item

What bandwidth does the USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports on the XPS 7490 provide?

The three USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports each run at up to 5 Gb/s, so external SSDs or docks are limited to that speed.

What are the chassis dimensions and mounting points for the Dell XPS 7490?

The 14.0-inch ultrabook uses a compact unibody aluminium frame with internal M.2 and soldered memory; no user-accessible mounting holes are exposed.

How is Windows 11 Pro activated on this Grade B unit, and what step is often missed?

A digital licence is tied to the motherboard; after the first internet connection the OS activates automatically, but skipping the initial network setup delays activation.
