Core specification

The Dell XPS 9520 laptop uses an integrated graphics processor built into the Intel Core i9 12th Gen CPU. This configuration delivers 14 cores running up to 5 GHz but provides no discrete graphics card for heavier visual workloads.

Who it suits

This device suits professionals who need a high-resolution 3.5k OLED display and 32 GB of memory for content viewing, office applications and light creative tasks. Buyers who require dedicated graphics performance for gaming, 3D rendering or video editing should look at a different system.

Deciding specification

The single specification that decides fit is the integrated graphics type paired with a 3456 x 2160 OLED panel. If your workflow depends on a discrete GPU, this laptop will not meet that need.

Questions about this item

How loud does the i9-12900HK get when the 14 cores run at 5 GHz all day?

The 14-core i9-12900HK reaches 5 GHz turbo under load, so fan noise will rise during sustained heavy work; the chassis is precision-cut aluminium that helps dissipate heat.

Which peripherals must I already own to use the 3456 x 2160 3.5k OLED panel and integrated graphics?

The laptop includes the 3.5k OLED display, integrated webcam, keyboard, touchpad and Windows 11 Home, so no external monitor, GPU or OS licence is required to start working.

Will my older 802.11ac router limit the wireless speed of this 2022 XPS 9520?

The system ships with 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, so it will connect to your existing router at the router's maximum supported rate without needing a network upgrade.
