17-inch XPS 9730 workstation laptop

The Dell XPS 9730 is a 17-inch mobile workstation built around a 14-core Intel Core i9-13900H processor that reaches 5.4 GHz turbo. It pairs 32 GB of memory with a 512 GB SSD and a dedicated GeForce RTX 4070 GPU with 8 GB GDDR6X. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed on the silver chassis.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

Creators and engineers who need a large 1920 x 1200 non-touch canvas, strong multi-core CPU performance and dedicated graphics for rendering or simulation will find the configuration balanced. Buyers who want more internal storage, a touchscreen display or a lighter chassis for frequent travel should consider other options.

Deciding specification: 14-core i9-13900H

The combination of a 14-core processor hitting 5.4 GHz turbo and an RTX 4070 laptop GPU with 8 GB GDDR6X determines whether this machine handles your workload. If your tasks demand that level of concurrent compute and graphics memory, the XPS 9730 matches the requirement; if not, a different specification may be more appropriate.
