Genuine Dell OEM Replacement Lid

This is a genuine Dell OEM replacement lid assembly for the XPS M1330 laptop. It arrives new and matches the original factory specifications. The part carries Dell number CM742 and is finished in AlpineWhite. It is intended for owners repairing a damaged or worn back cover.

Sustained Fit and Hinge Durability

The assembly includes the left and right hinges pre-installed, so the display opens and closes with the same resistance as the original unit. Hinge torque remains consistent over repeated cycles, preventing the lid from loosening or sagging during daily use. No adhesive curing time is required before the laptop returns to regular service.

AlpineWhite Finish and Cable Routing

The white plastic shell resists yellowing and matches the laptop’s original colour scheme. Integrated camera and wireless antenna cables are routed through the hinges exactly as designed, eliminating pinch points and signal degradation. Installers must verify the system uses an LED-backlit panel; the part will not fit CCFL-backlit models.

Questions about this item

Does the white lid assembly add noticeable weight or heat to the XPS M1330 during all-day use?

The replacement lid uses the original plastic and hinge design, so weight and thermal profile stay the same as the factory part.

Which existing parts must I keep from my current XPS M1330 to install this CM742 assembly?

You reuse the LED panel, display bezel, webcam module, wireless card and all internal cabling; only the white back cover and hinges are replaced.

Will this AlpineWhite lid fit an XPS M1330 that still has the original CCFL-backlit screen?

No — the CM742 assembly is built for LED-backlit models only and will not align with CCFL-equipped systems.
