Genuine Dell Replacement Lid

This genuine Dell replacement lid assembly fits the XPS M1530 with a 15.4 inch LED display. It arrives in black and includes the back plastic cover, left and right hinges, and wireless antenna cables. The part number is CM796. It is intended for owners repairing a cracked or damaged top cover on this specific model.

Durable Hinge Mechanism

The integrated hinges are built to withstand repeated opening and closing cycles during daily use. They maintain consistent tension so the screen stays at the chosen angle without wobble or drift. The assembly is designed for the thermal and mechanical stresses of a laptop lid. It restores original structural rigidity when installed correctly.

LED Display Compatibility Only

This lid works exclusively with XPS M1530 systems that use LED backlighting. It will not fit models equipped with CCFL backlit panels. Buyers must verify their display type using the service manual or service tag before ordering. Installing it on an incompatible system prevents proper fit and antenna routing.

Questions about this item

Does the CM796 lid assembly generate any noise or heat during normal operation?

The CM796 is a passive plastic cover with hinges and antenna cables. It has no moving electronics, fans or power draw, so it produces no noise or heat.

What existing laptop parts must I already have for this CM796 lid to fit and function?

You need a Dell XPS M1530 chassis with a 15.4 inch LED-backlit display panel, the matching LCD bezel, display cable and wireless card that connect to the included antenna cables.

Will this CM796 lid work if my XPS M1530 currently uses a CCFL-backlit screen?

No. The CM796 is built only for LED-backlit models. The hinge mounting points and antenna routing differ from the CCFL version, so it will not align or connect properly.
