What the charger is and who it suits

This DELL 65W USB-C adapter supplies power to a broad list of ThinkPad, Yoga, Chromebook and IdeaPad models. It replaces the original brick for office workers, students and travellers who want a single, lightweight charger for daily productivity. Buyers needing higher wattage for workstation-class laptops or proprietary barrel connectors will not be served by this unit.

Capacity and headroom

The adapter delivers 20V at up to 3.25A for a 65W maximum output, while the label also states an 85W peak capability and 11.8A current rating. That headroom covers most ultraportables and mainstream 13 to 15 inch systems under full load, but it will not sustain larger gaming or mobile-workstation notebooks that demand more power.

Thermals, noise and power draw

Intelligent temperature monitoring checks heat levels over 600 times per minute, keeping the casing at a safe temperature during prolonged sessions. The sealed, fanless design produces no audible noise, and Power Delivery negotiation ensures only the required current is drawn from the mains, minimising wasted energy.

Questions about this item

Will the 65W USB-C charger power my older ThinkPad T480 alongside a phone without slowing down?

The adapter negotiates up to 65W via USB-C Power Delivery, so it can charge the T480 and a phone simultaneously while maintaining full speed for each device.

How can I confirm the 20V 3.25A output is active after plugging in?

Your laptop’s battery indicator will show charging at 65W, and the charger surface stays cool thanks to temperature monitoring that checks heat levels over 600 times per minute.

Does the box include a USB-C cable or only the 250g power brick?

The unit is a corded electric adapter with a fixed USB-C cable attached, so nothing extra is required to start charging compatible laptops and tablets.
