Olympic Preacher Curl Bar OB-47

The Deltech Fitness Olympic Preacher Curl Bar OB-47 is a 20 lb chrome-plated steel bar designed for focused bicep and tricep training. It features a three-piece construction with bronze bushings on the Olympic sleeves to provide smooth rotation during curls. Comfortable hand knurls offer a secure grip for various hand positions.

Suited for Olympic plate owners seeking isolation

This bar suits lifters who already own Olympic plates and want a dedicated tool for preacher curls to isolate arm muscles. It is not for buyers who need a straight barbell for compound lifts like squats or deadlifts, nor for those requiring a bar compatible with standard one-inch plates. The 400 lb weight capacity also limits use for extremely heavy loading.

Three-piece design and bronze bushings

The three-piece assembly allows the bar to be broken down for compact storage or transport between sessions. Bronze bushings on each sleeve reduce friction so Olympic plates spin freely, decreasing wrist torque and improving exercise fluidity. The chrome finish resists corrosion and simplifies cleaning after workouts.

Questions about this item

What diameter weight plates does the OB-47 accept?

The bar sleeves are sized for Olympic plates with a 2-inch centre hole, so standard 1-inch plates will not fit.

Will the bronze bushings still rotate smoothly if I keep using older Olympic plates with worn centre holes?

Yes, the bushings are designed for smooth rotation and the 400 lb capacity handles typical plate wear without binding.

How can I verify the bar is assembled correctly before loading plates?

Check that the three sections lock together firmly, the chrome finish shows no gaps at the joints, and each sleeve spins freely by hand.
