Fixed-height scalloped desk

The Desky Zero is a fixed-height office desk with a scalloped front cut-out that lets the user sit closer to the work surface. A melamine laminate top on an MDF core provides a smooth, durable finish for daily computer work, writing or study. The steel frame is built for commercial and residential use and carries a five-year labour guarantee. It suits home offices, study rooms and professional workstations that need a stable, spacious platform.

Ergonomics and daily stability

The scalloped edge curves inward so the user can position their chair nearer the desktop, reducing reach to the keyboard and monitor. At 27.5 inches high without the top and adjustable by plus or minus one inch via the levelling studs, the frame delivers a steady typing surface that does not wobble under normal loads. The 1-inch thick laminate resists everyday wear and keeps the workspace looking clean without special maintenance.

Sustained load behaviour

The desk weighs 79.4 pounds, giving it enough mass to stay planted during long work sessions with multiple monitors and accessories. The 59.1 by 29.5 inch top dimensions support an organised layout of screens, laptops and peripherals without flexing over time. Integrated cable channels are recommended for routing wires, keeping the surface tidy during continuous use. The fixed-height design means no moving parts to service, so stability remains consistent year after year.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the desktop to the steel frame and what step is often missed?

Bolt the melamine top to the frame using the pre-drilled holes; the step often missed is setting the adjustable studs to level the 27.5-inch frame height before tightening all fasteners.

What part of this desk will need maintenance or replacement first?

The melamine laminate surface can show wear from heavy daily use; the steel frame and fixed-height studs are built for long-term stability and rarely need service.

At what weight does the frame start to flex during sustained use?

The desk weighs 79.4 lbs total; the fixed-height steel frame is rated for regular office loads and the melamine top distributes weight evenly across the 59.1 by 29.5-inch surface.
