What this cable does

The Direct Access Tech. 4' Lightning to USB Sync and Charge Cable connects compatible Apple devices to a USB port for charging and data transfer. It fits iPhone 5, 5C, 5S, iPad Air, iPad 4th Generation, iPad Mini, iPad Mini with Retina Display, iPod Touch 5th Generation, and iPod Nano 7th Generation. The 1.21 metre length suits desk, bedside or travel use. The pink colour makes it easy to spot in a bag.

Durability and daily use

The cable is built to withstand regular plugging and unplugging without fraying or connection loss. Its construction resists the bending and twisting that occur during normal charging and syncing sessions. No active cooling or power electronics are present, so the cable runs silently and draws only the power negotiated by the host device.

Connector compatibility

This cable uses a Lightning connector on the device end and a standard USB plug on the host end. It will not work with devices that require USB-C, Micro-USB or the older 30-pin Apple connector. Buyers whose iPhone, iPad or iPod uses a different port need a different cable.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the Lightning plug to my iPhone 5S without damaging the port?

Align the Lightning connector with the port so the contacts face the screen side, then insert straight in until it clicks; forcing it upside-down bends the pins.

When should I replace this 1.21 m cable if the pink jacket starts to fray?

Replace it as soon as the outer insulation splits or the strain relief cracks, because exposed wires can short and stop charging or syncing.

What length limit causes voltage drop on a 4-foot Lightning cable during a long charge?

At 1.21 m the resistance is low enough for standard 5 V charging, but daisy-chaining extensions adds resistance that slows the charge rate.
