Connects five 4-pin PWM fans to a single motherboard header using a 40cm black cable with 18 AWG wiring

  • Recorder typeVideo Recorder
  • Connects five fans from one header
  • 40 cm cable reaches across full-size cases
  • 18 AWG wiring handles 12 V fan power
  • Black 4-pin sockets fit standard PWM fans
  • Weighs 4.0 oz for lightweight cable routing

40 cm 4-pin Fan Hub Splitter

This 40 cm cable splits one 4-pin fan header into five male connectors, letting a single motherboard or controller port drive up to five PWM fans. It suits builders who want tidy cable routing inside compact cases without adding a powered hub. The 12 V rating matches standard PC fan voltages.

Sustained Load Behaviour

Each connector passes the motherboard PWM signal and 12 V power directly, so fan speeds stay synchronised under continuous load. The 18 AWG wires handle the combined current of five typical fans without measurable voltage drop along the 40 cm length. No active components mean there is no thermal throttling or firmware latency to consider.

Build and Connectors

Black 4-pin sockets and plugs use standard pitch, ensuring a secure click-fit with most case and CPU fans. The 7.00 cm by 3.00 cm hub body is lightweight at 4.0 oz and fits behind motherboard trays or in cable channels. Universal compatibility means it works with any brand using the industry 4-pin layout.

Questions about this item

How much power does the 12 V hub draw when five fans run all day?

The hub itself draws negligible power; each 4-pin fan connects directly to the 12 V rail so total draw equals the sum of the attached fans.

What must my motherboard provide for the single 4-pin female connector to work?

A standard 4-pin PWM fan header supplies both 12 V power and the PWM control signal for all five attached fans.

Will older 3-pin fans plugged into the four 4-pin male sockets still spin?

Yes, 3-pin fans fit the 4-pin sockets and run at full 12 V speed, but PWM speed control is not available for those fans.
