Portable ID1 Contact USB Smart Card Reader

This compact reader provides secure data access for government, enterprise and personal use. It is fully ISO7816 compliant and works with electronic ID cards, social security cards and loyalty cards. The portable design fits easily into a pocket or bag for on-the-go authentication.

USB interface and ISO7816 limits

The reader connects through a standard USB port and supports ISO7816 contact smart cards only. It cannot read contactless or NFC cards and requires a direct card insertion for every transaction. Driver installation may be needed depending on the operating system used.

Replaces older contact readers

This device upgrades from bulkier desktop readers that lack portability. The jump is worth it for users who need secure network log-on, e-banking or online shopping authentication while travelling. It is not suited for buyers who want contactless tap-and-go functionality or multiple simultaneous card slots.
