Handmade Gampi Cicada Wing Paper

This pack contains 100 sheets of handmade Gampi rice paper measuring 13.8 by 16.5 inches. The ultra-thin translucent material is crafted from traditional Gampi bark fiber for artists and crafters who need a strong yet delicate surface for calligraphy, painting, or vintage-style journaling.

Retro Textured Finish and Mixed Media Durability

The vegetation-dyed semi-raw finish gives each sheet a warm aged tone with a gentle tooth on one side and a smooth surface on the other. At a weight of 20 the paper resists tearing when wet, handles ink without bleeding, and layers cleanly for collage, decoupage, and scrapbooking without adding bulk.

Check Sheet Count and Dimensions Before Ordering

Verify that 100 sheets at 13.8 by 16.5 inches match your project volume and storage space. The paper is sold as a single container of loose sheets, so confirm you have a flat dry area to keep the translucent stock flat and free from creases.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions of each 13.8 x 16.5 inch sheet and how does the .1 inch thickness affect handling?

Each sheet measures 13.8 by 16.5 inches with a .1 inch profile. The ultra-thin Gampi fiber remains untearable when wet, so it handles brush strokes and glue without disintegrating.

Will the 100 sheets fit in a standard A3 portfolio or do I need a larger folder?

At 13.8 by 16.5 inches the sheets exceed A3 dimensions, so a larger portfolio or flat storage box is required to keep the deck flat and crease-free.

Which side of the Cicada Wing paper should face up for Chinese calligraphy to prevent ink bleeding?

Use the side with the gentle tooth for calligraphy; it grips ink for zero bleeding, while the smooth reverse suits layering and stamping in junk journals.
