HDMI extender for long cable runs

This HDMI to RJ45 extender kit sends 1080p video and audio up to 30 metres over Cat5e or Cat6 cable. It includes a transmitter and receiver pair that follow the IEEE-568B wiring standard. No external power supply is needed for operation. The compact adapters suit home cinema, hotel projector or conference centre installations.

30 metre reach at 1080p with Cat6

Using Cat6 cable the extender delivers 1080p signals to the full 30 metre (98 feet) distance. With Cat5e cable the 30 metre figure is not supported and the practical range is shorter. Supported resolutions include 480i, 576i, 720p, 1080i, 1080p, 1920×1200 and 4k×2k. HDCP 1.1 and 1.2 content protection is also handled.

Passive Cat5e/6 link with fixed limits

The extender replaces a long HDMI lead with a single RJ45 cable run but cannot be daisy-chained or combined with other HDMI adapters. It supports HDMI 1.4 features such as 3D and 4k×2k at the source resolution. Hot-plugging is supported, yet the transmitter and receiver must be connected exactly as labelled or the link will not work.

Questions about this item

Will this extender work with my 1080p projector and Cat6 cable?

Yes, it transmits 1080p signals up to 30 meters over Cat6 cable with plug-and-play setup.

How can I verify the link is active after connecting the TX and RX units?

The extender passes 1080p video and HDCP 1.1/1.2 audio unchanged; a stable picture on the display confirms correct TX-to-RX orientation.

Does the package include the Cat6 cable or only the two adapter units?

The box contains two HDMI-to-RJ45 adapters (TX and RX); the Cat5e/6/7 cable must be purchased separately.
