HB graphite core and woodcase

The Dixon 14402 is a standard #2 woodcase pencil with a 0.7 mm HB graphite core. Its hexagonal yellow barrel provides a secure grip and the integrated latex-free eraser removes marks cleanly without tearing paper. The pencil is PMA certified non-toxic and is sold new, ready for everyday writing tasks.

Suited for general writing and testing

This pencil fits students, office workers and anyone needing a reliable HB instrument for forms, notes or standardised tests. It is not refillable and has no pocket clip, so users who prefer a mechanical pencil or a design that attaches to a notebook should consider other options.

0.7 mm HB graphite diameter

The 0.7 mm HB core determines line width and darkness, making it the key specification for matching exam requirements or personal writing pressure. If a finer or broader line is needed, a different diameter or hardness grade will be required.

Questions about this item

Will the .7 mm HB graphite core write consistently on the same paper I use with older #2 pencils?

Yes, the #2 HB graphite diameter is .7 mm, matching the standard grade used in most schools and offices, so it performs identically on familiar paper stock.

How can I confirm the pencil is writing as intended right after opening the box?

Make a few test strokes; the solid graphite core should lay down a clean black line without smudging, and the latex-free eraser should remove marks cleanly without tearing the page.

Does the box include a sharpener or only the yellow woodcase pencils?

The pencils arrive unsharpened and are not refillable, so a separate sharpener is required; the package contains only the woodcase pencils themselves.
