Centimeter-level positioning for multiple drones

The DJI D-RTK 3 Multifunction Base Station serves as a reference station delivering centimeter-level positioning accuracy for multiple drones simultaneously. It tracks signals from GPS, BDS, Galileo, GLONASS, QZSS and L-Band constellations. A new rover mode works with DJI Industry Apps and DJI SmartMap to create a complete high-precision aerial surveying workflow. Survey teams and enterprise operators gain a single device for both positioning and data collection tasks.

Relay station mode extends operational range

When configured as a relay station, the unit extends the drone’s operational range by bridging the link between the remote controller and the aircraft. The station must be deployed in an elevated, unobstructed location to overcome signal blockage. Built-in high-performance sensors continuously analyze device position and orientation to maintain link stability. Measurement accuracy depends on open sky conditions, low ionospheric activity and minimal electromagnetic interference.

Rugged gray housing with directional antenna kit

The gray chassis measures 163 by 89 mm excluding antennas and weighs 1.26 kg. Four spare OcuSync directional antennas are included for field replacement or configuration changes. A single A-C data cable provides the wired connection interface. All rubber plugs on the airframe must be properly installed to maintain environmental sealing during outdoor deployment.

Questions about this item

How do I set up the D-RTK 3 base station for relay mode, and what step do people skip?

Mount the four directional antennas, connect the A-C data cable, place the unit on an elevated, unobstructed spot, and ensure all rubber plugs are properly installed — the plugs are often forgotten.

What parts will need replacement after extended field use?

The four spare OcuSync directional antennas supplied in the box are the primary consumable items for long-term operation.

What limits relay range first during sustained operation?

The relay station must be deployed in an elevated, unobstructed location; signal obstruction between the remote controller and the aircraft is the first limiting factor.
