The screen reports measured voltage and remaining capacity as a percentage plus a bar graph. Cylindrical cells contact a spring-loaded negative pin; button and pack types sit in dedicated slots. The unit runs on two 1.5 V AAA alkaline cells (included) and must be powered by that chemistry. Pressing the check button for three seconds runs a self-test; otherwise "Err" appears.
