Donerton A6 Bluetooth 5.4 speaker

The Donerton A6 is a portable Bluetooth speaker with a 2.1 channel configuration and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity. It delivers 3 watts of power through a 66 millimetre driver unit and is powered by an internal battery. The enclosure carries an IPX7 waterproof rating and includes a carrying rope for transport.

Suits outdoor listeners needing long playtime

Buyers who want up to 40 hours of playback and a stable Bluetooth 5.4 link up to 10 metres will find this model suitable. The multicolour light show can be disabled to extend battery life during extended outdoor use. It is not intended for users who require wired audio inputs or multi-room audio synchronisation.

IPX7 waterproof rating decides suitability

The IPX7 certification means the speaker survives immersion in water up to one metre for a short period, making it appropriate for poolside, beach or rainy conditions. If water resistance is not a requirement, other models without this rating may offer different feature sets.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 60 W model or is the 3 W rating the real output?

The speaker delivers 3 W of continuous power; the 60 W figure in the title is a peak rating, so choose based on the 3 W spec for everyday listening.

What does the 40-hour playtime claim mean when I actually use it?

The manufacturer rates up to 40 hours at moderate volume, but notes real-world playtime drops to around 36 hours and varies with volume level and audio content.

How far does the Bluetooth 5.4 link reach in practice?

Bluetooth 5.4 gives a stable connection up to 10 m (33 ft) in open space, though walls and interference will reduce the reliable range.
