Single-DIN CD/MP3 receiver with Bluetooth

The Dual XDM290BT is a single-DIN head unit that plays CDs and MP3 files while adding Bluetooth streaming and hands-free calling. It includes a front-panel USB input, an auxiliary jack and one pair of RCA preamp outputs for adding an external amplifier. Voice activation gives one-touch access to Siri or Google Assistant through the paired phone. The chassis fits a standard single-DIN dashboard opening.

Check dashboard cut-out and wiring harness

Verify that your vehicle has a single-DIN opening and that you have the correct wiring harness adapter for your make and model. Confirm that your smartphone runs a compatible version of iOS or Android for Bluetooth pairing and for the iPlug Smart Remote app. Ensure you have a safe mounting location for the included remote control if you plan to use it. The unit provides 200 watts peak power (4 x 50 watts) without an external amplifier.

iPlug app and voice button add phone-based control

The iPlug Smart Remote app lets you change sources, stations, tracks, volume and settings from your phone without line-of-sight to the receiver. A dedicated voice button on the faceplate activates Siri or Google Assistant for hands-free commands while driving. Seven preset EQ curves plus bass and treble controls shape the sound, and the single pair of preamp outputs allows an amplifier to be added later for more volume.

Questions about this item

Does the package include everything needed to install and use the XDM290BT, or are extra parts required?

The receiver comes with a remote control for wireless operation. Installation will require a Single DIN mounting kit and a wiring harness adapter specific to the vehicle, which are sold separately.

How do the 200W peak and 50W per channel ratings help me choose this model over others?

The 200W peak power (4 x 50W max) drives four speakers directly, while the single pair of RCA preamp outputs allows adding an external amplifier for more volume if desired.

What does the 50 watts per channel figure mean for everyday listening volume and clarity?

The built-in amplifier delivers up to 50 watts peak to each of four speakers, providing strong cabin volume with 7 preset EQ curves and bass/treble controls to shape the sound.
