HVAC Self-Fusing Butyl Tape

This two-roll pack of Ductmate DM 440 self-fusing butyl tape is designed for HVAC and refrigeration professionals who need a water-resistant seal on ductwork and fittings. The butyl adhesive fuses to itself over time to create a continuous bond without separate adhesive layers.

Verify Surface and Temperature Range

Before ordering, confirm that the application surface is clean and dry so the butyl compound can fuse properly. The tape performs continuously between 0 and 190 degrees Fahrenheit, so ensure the installation environment stays within that window. UL 723 listing covers flame and smoke ratings for code compliance.

Two Rolls Extend Project Coverage

The package supplies two continuous rolls, each 8 3/8 yards long and 5/8 inch wide at 187.5 mil thickness, giving enough length for multiple joints or larger duct runs. A tensile strength of 6.5 lb per inch helps the seal resist mechanical stress after curing. No additional tools or primers are included.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and is anything else required for installation?

The package contains two self-fusing butyl tape rolls, each 8 3/8 yards long and 5/8 inch wide. No extra parts are needed; the tape bonds to itself when stretched and wrapped.

How do I decide between the available versions or capacities?

This listing is a single 2-pack of the DM 440 series in white. There are no alternative widths, lengths or colours offered here.

What does the 190-degree temperature rating mean when the tape is on a duct?

The tape maintains its seal from 0 to 190 degrees Fahrenheit, so it stays intact on supply and return ducts through normal heating and cooling cycles.
