HVAC duct sealant for metal systems
Ductmate GRFIBERSEAL1 is an acrylic latex sealant formulated for HVAC, duct and electrical applications on metal surfaces. The gray, mildew-resistant and mold-resistant compound comes in a 128 oz pail and meets EPA Method 24, LEED Credit EQ 4.1, NFPA 90A, NFPA 90B, UL 181B-M and UL 723 standards. It offers low VOC content and mild odor for indoor use.
Replaces basic caulks lacking fire
This sealant upgrades from standard acrylic caulks that do not carry NFPA 90A, NFPA 90B or UL 181B-M listings for duct systems. The jump is worth it when building codes require compliant materials for supply or return plenums. It also suits projects targeting LEED certification where low VOC products are specified.
Limited to metal substrates
The product is rated for continuous performance from -25 Degrees F to 220 Degrees F and reaches full cure in 3 day. It is not intended for flexible fabric ducts, plastic piping or surfaces other than metal. Application outside the stated temperature window or on unapproved substrates may compromise adhesion and code compliance.
