8-Bay charger with 16 AA NiMH batteries

This set includes a V868 charger and sixteen AA NiMH cells rated at 2700 mAh. The charger accepts two to eight AA or AAA batteries in pairs. It operates from 120V AC at 60Hz and draws 9W. The package suits households or small offices that cycle many cells regularly.

Independent channels with timer-controlled trickle

Each bay delivers 2.8V DC at 200mA for AA or 80mA for AAA. An internal IC timer stops fast charging after 12 hours and switches to trickle current. LED lamps show charging status for every pair. The unit is CE and UL approved and ROHS compliant.

Pair-only charging and fixed 12-hour timer

Batteries must be inserted in pairs; single cells cannot be charged alone. The timer cannot be adjusted, so very low-capacity cells may not reach full charge if the cycle is not reset. Input voltage is fixed at 120V AC, limiting use to regions with that supply.

Questions about this item

Does the charger draw much power or get hot when left running for the full 12-hour timer cycle?

The unit draws 9 W from a 120 V 60 Hz supply and uses a built-in 12-hour IC timer that switches to trickle charge once fast charging finishes, limiting heat build-up during extended runs.

What power source and battery types must I already have to use the V868?

You need a standard 120 V AC outlet and either Ni-MH or Ni-Cd AA or AAA cells; the charger handles two to eight batteries at a time in pairs and automatically selects 200 mA for AA or 80 mA for AAA.

Will the included 2700 mAh AA cells work reliably in older devices that originally took alkaline AAs?

Yes, the 1.2 V NiMH AA batteries are direct replacements for alkaline AAs, offer no memory effect, and are rated for up to 1000 recharge cycles in any product that accepts standard AA size.
