Extender for 4K60 HDMI over Ethernet

The DVDO CAT4K-70 extends HDMI signals up to 230ft using a single CAT6 or CAT6a cable. It delivers 4K resolution at 60Hz with 4:4:4 chroma subsampling and 18Gbps bandwidth. The unit supports HDMI 2.0b and HDCP 2.2 compliance for protected content. Bi-directional PoC allows power from either the transmitter or receiver end.

Distance and cable limits for 4K60

Maximum reach is 230ft or 70 metres when using CAT6 or CAT6a cabling. The extender handles 18Gbps throughput required for uncompressed 4K60 4:4:4 video. HDCP 2.2 compliance ensures compatibility with copy-protected sources. Cascading through the HDMI loop output adds flexibility for longer runs or additional displays.

ARC and audio de-embedding via optical

The receiver provides an optical audio output for de-embedded sound including ARC return from the display. Supported formats reach LPCM 7.1, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. EDID can be copied from either the remote display or the local loopout. This makes it suitable for installations needing separate audio distribution.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the transmitter with loop-out or the receiver with optical audio for my setup?

The kit includes both units; the transmitter provides an HDMI loop-out for a local display or daisy-chaining, while the receiver offers an optical audio output for ARC and de-embedded sound.

What does the 4K 60 Hz 4:4:4 rating mean when the extender is installed?

It means the link can carry full-colour 4K video at 60 frames per second without chroma subscaling, provided you use CAT6 or CAT6a cable within the distance limit.

How far can I run a CAT6 cable with this HDMI 2.0b extender?

The extender supports up to 230 ft or 70 m over a single CAT6 or CAT6a cable while maintaining 18 Gbps bandwidth for 4K 60 Hz 4:4:4 signals.
